After School at the Pomeroy Public Library this past Monday, where eleven children and four adults enjoyed a presentation on Snowflakes facilitated by Corrine Peterson, Pocahontas County Conservationist. Hot chocolate with marshmallows and cookies were decorated and devoured with help from Beth Rosa, Corinne and library assistant, Grant Pedersen. The book "Snowflake Bentley" was read and detailed images of the uniqueness of snowflakes was highlighted as Grant shared a u-tube presentation on a large screen with the Epson projector. Children were then invited to imagine what it would be like to be a snowflake in a guided meditation and then share where they would like to land. Answers varied from "on a car" to "on a dog's nose". A snowflake craft making activity completed the hour. We want to thank Corinne for sharing her time, expertise and talent with us and for braving the cold and snowy weather to make this children's program possible.
