Library News March 7, 2018

This week has been busy at our lovely, little library. On Monday Corrine Peterson visited our children and told them about the Iditarod, the famous journey from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska.  Winters in Alaska are tough and transportation is very limited, sometimes the only transportation is dog sleds. When children became very sick and needed medicine right away their only option was a team of dogs and mushers, one of those dogs was the beloved Balto. Thank you, Corrine, for sharing your time and beautiful pictures and also the fun dog races too.

Next Friday, March 9th is our adult craft at 1:30 pm. We will be hearing about a garden preview and also making wine bottle wind chimes with Corrine Peterson. This is a free activity and we welcome everyone.

And last but not least, we have a new DVD. Based on the New York Times bestseller WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream  elementary school for the first time.
