This year's Summer Library Program has the theme "Libraries Rock".  This reading program and special events will be happening at the Pomeroy Public Library in June and July and is designed to encourage elementary children to keep reading during summer vacation.

Lots of fun and exciting activities have been planned and we encourage children to attend these events and also be motivated to read and develop positive attitudes about reading and the library.  The Summer Reading program Kick-off will be held on Friday, June 8, at the Pomeroy Community Building from 1 to 2 p.m.  This will feature the Blank Park Zoo presenting "A Very Musical Habitat".  Adults and children are welcome to attend.  Mark your calendars!

New books ready for check-out include: "The Sixth Day" by Catherine Coulter, "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng, "Accidental Heroes" by Danielle Steel, "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking and "Necessary Lies" by Diane Chamberlain.  New children's movies available soon are "Ferdinand", "Leap", and "Paddington Bear 2".

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
